Book News

May 14, 2011

Happy Saturday, folks!  I’m very happy to share a couple of things with you today.

First of all, I now own a publishing company!  Not a huge deal really, but I recently went through the legal process of forming an LLC to keep my book business organized and growing.  The name is “Georgie IV Publishing” and if you can guess the significance in that, I will give you a prize… or mutter something affirming under my breath.

Also, I am definitely working on another children’s book.  After oodles of doodles and a number of story treatments, I have decided that Book #2 will again feature “Neckless” Audrey Amaka and her friends Nelson and Doodle.  In this story, the intelligent Audrey (painfully) learns that every talent comes with the responsibility to use it wisely.  You can start looking for the new book in October!

If you have read and enjoyed Neckless, please tell your friends!  After Book #2 releases, we are hoping to sign with a Christian book distributor.  Naturally, Audrey can use all the help she can get in spreading the word.  So far, the response has been terrific.

Again, I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Congrats Brent! I am so happy for you and so proud of you and so grateful our great Lord and Savior saw fit to bring you into my life. He always knows just what we we need just when we need it.I bet Georgie IV stand for George Brent Vernon the 4th? Your full legal name on your birth certificate? Oh, well, just a guess. I still have so much to learn about you. What an exciting adventure to be on!!!

My family was privileged to be at the Timberville Nazarene church last night and saw Brent in ministry. We thoroughly enjoyed the service and my 10 year old daughter asked for the book you had on display. In the past 24 hours, she has had read it four times by herself, we have read it as a family once and her 21 year old sister has read it. Neckless has become a family favorite overnight. Thank you, Brent, for your obedience to follow God’s calling on your life. You are blessing people more than you know.

Tammy – That means so much!! I am so glad that she is enjoying it. It really was great to meet you! Thank you for your smile and encouraging words.

Jane – You’re pretty close! :-) Hope you’re doing well. Sorry I missed ya on Saturday! Hopefully, we’ll be back in the neighborhood.

If I may have another guess, maybe it is your Dads full name? Sounds like he is a BIG inspiration in your life. I hope you will come back this way too. The PALS board is really starting to work hard on getting out and reaching our community so more than one offer could come your way soon. And you always have a place to stay with the Pastor and the Waggetts. They also are so very impressed with you & Sam.
